The IRS recently told us that it had inadvertently published confidential information on its website from about 120,000 filers. And for some reason, Democrats thought it would be a good idea to reward the agency with $80 billion in new funding! Big Government strikes again.

Obviously they need the cash to invest in infrastructure and security. So what’s your point? We should erode them further so this happens more often?

Sounds like they need funding to fix some internal issues.

Let’s see, in 2021, the IRS had 78,661 employees (down 22K from 2017). Hiring 87,000 over 10 years means adding 8700/yr. ~5600 IRS workers retire/yr., not counting those who quit, are fired & die. OMG: The IRS is increasing its staff by 4%/yr. Better stuff the mattress with cash!
