If they are immigrating illegally how do you know there is a record? It's an illegal immigration if you don't report to the authorities. If they don't report, how does anyone know the numbers? If they are caught, then they haven't managed to immigrate, they have tried but failed.

How do you explain knowing how many “illegals” have entered? Did Border Patrol watch and count as they entered? Or are you talking about those that have gained entry legally and are waiting for a hearing?
