I label myself as a conservative person, and I vote that way as well. BUT I also work in financial markets… and the NBER has never stated that a recession is two consecutive quarters of GDP decline. That’s the colloquial definition.. but officially they have never said that.

Google "recession" 1st. Definition states "a period of temporary economic decline during which trade and industrial activity are reduced, generally identified by a fall in GDP in 2 successive quarters".
