Because our refineries are set up to process light sweet crude and we don’t have that. Saudi Arabia does. Why didn’t you vote in favor of preventing war profiteering by oil companies, as they make historic profits? That’s on you, not the President.

The government doesn't decide whether to drill, the oil companies do. Are you advocating for government control of oil production?

Because the US isn't a swing producer like Saudi, i.e. US producers don't maintain excess, already-drilled wells that they keep idled & can be turned on at short notice, the way Saudis do. US business practices don't reward investments that aren't making money right away.
