The Founding Fathers, who wrote the Constitution in 1787, wanted it to be flexible to fit the CHANGING needs and circumstances of the country. The 2nd Amendment CHANGED the Constitution in 1791. Since then, there’ve been 26 MORE CHANGES to the Constitution, most recently in 1992.
