My uncle died on pork chop hill in the korean war. He had joined at age 16.

My grandfather, a Ukrainian immigrant, volunteered and joined the US Army at the age of 19. Served in World War I. He proudly served his new country. Then you have the former guy, who did everything money could buy to avoid being drafted.
