Vindman followed protocol and went through the chain of command. Scheller ranted on social media about his superior officers. He was given a direct order to stop and disobeyed a legal direct order. No comparison and anyone who served, knows this.

Both of them violated military laws, regulations, and protocol. Both know what they were doing was going to bring them trouble. Neither deserves an ounce of sympathy.
