The “transcript” of the call was not a verbatim transcript. It was notes & recollections of Situation Room Duty officers & NSC policy staff assigned to listen & make notes. Accuracy can be affected by poor connections, accents & interpretations.

Quid pro quo is always wrong. Trump said clearly “ you do this, we (we includes trump) will give you that”. Perhaps overlooking QPQ is the norm in Cleveland- it’s not in the USA. Asking someone to offer encouraging news is not QPQ

trump didn’t release the whole transcript. He released what “he” thought was ok to release and it backfired on him. If we could only hear a recording of the entire call, I’m positive it would be devastating. 🤷‍♀️
