Lets not be unrealistic, some of your country will be thankful, some are apathetic, some think you're sacrifice was stupid, and some wish you had all died. They are all welcome to their POV - as for me - I'm very thankful to every US soldier who has honorably served. 👏👍

My SIL is a disabled veteran who was blown up in Afghanistan by an IED, has not received any of the stimulus payments because the VA and the IRS are corrupt and/or incompetent—and no one with power cares.
