Justice Gorsuch destroys the liberal majority with his dissent: “There is no world in which the Constitution permits Nevada to favor Caesars Palace over Calvary Chapel." It shouldn’t be this hard to defend the First Amendment.

NEW at SCOTUS: Chief Justice Roberts joins four liberal justices in rejecting a Nevada church’s challenge to attendance limits at religious services. Justices Alito (joined by Thomas and Kavanaugh) and Gorsuch write dissents.

Preachers need the money from the collection plate. They can have several services a day with 50 parishioners so they can pass the plate. They don’t need to endanger their people in crowds.

This should be simple during COVID-19: Either BOTH churches AND casinos use the same restrictions OR BOTH use the same precautionary measures (masks, 6ft distance, etc.). Otherwise it just shows favoritism. We all know casinos provide higher tax revenue, that is the real reason.
