A couple nobodys complained or joked about canceling Hamilton. Almost all the #cancelHamilton noise is reaction to the belief that somebody out there wants to cancel Hamilton.

Not really. The musical is a stellar artistic achievement and no one denies that. However, glorification of a person who held slaves and didn't see a problem with it is still a tough pill to swallow. Not because he didn't do anything good, but because this one thing is awful.

Or is it possible that "the left" cares more about getting it right than protecting their own? "The right" should give it a try.

They have induced opposite and equal reaction from the rest of us. I now hope communities will put up statues of Jeff Davis and Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee next to every statue of Abe Lincoln or Fredrick Douglass. Fair is only fair. Talk about awakening a sleeping lion.
