Israelis across the country—on Shabbat and the holiday of Simchat Torah—woke up to sirens sounding and Hamas firing rockets at them from Gaza this morning. We will defend ourselves.

About an hour ago, the Hamas terrorist organization carried out a combined attack, including the firing of rockets and terrorist infiltrations into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. The IDF will defend Israeli civilians and the Hamas terrorist organization will pay heavy price for its actions. Civilians are asked to act according to the special instructions posted on the National Emergency Portal and stay adjacent to shelters. Residents in the areas surrounding the Gaza Strip are asked to stay in their homes.

#Antisemitism has no place in our societies and goes against all the universal values of #sports. Unfortunately, despite many efforts, antisemitic incidents in stadiums, among fan groups or on social media continue to be a serious problem that affects the reputation of sport. We must encourage all actors to combat antisemitism, #racism and other discriminations in sport, and to continue using sport as an educational tool for inclusive and respectful societies. One year ago, the @UN_HRC adopted its first resolution on #cyberbullying, and today's panel is a direct outcome of this. As initiators, it was great to address #HRC54 on behalf of 🇮🇱🇦🇷🇩🇪🇬🇷. Cyberbullying is a pressing issue that requires action to prevent and eliminate it. It is not limited to #children; it can affect anyone, anywhere. As cyberbullying occurs in the #digital world, it is also constantly evolving, as are the challenges that arise from it. We need to think of more #innovative ways to address it and #children must be part of this effort, alongide States, the UN, civil society, the private sector, social media companies, educators and families.
