Before #WWII, Sally Bein led an institute for Jewish children with disabilities in Beelitz, Germany, with the vision of making education inclusive. Besides the school curiculum, they would learn practical skills, giving them the opportunity to later get jobs and change the course of their lives.
But the Nazis put an end to this. They closed the institution and deportated the children and staff to the Sobibor death camp during the #Holocaust. The only possible fate in Nazis' genocidial plan.
82 years later, we remember and honour Sally Bein and his innovative approach to inclusive education.
Today, we held an event @UNGENEVA together with @GermanyUNGeneva, @JewishImpact, @wzo_official, and Alumot Or, discussing Sally's legacy and the relevancy of his vision, to the present days.
