It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of 🇮🇱Ambassador Itzhak Levanon z'l, who served as Israel's Ambassador in Geneva between 2004-2008. For nearly 40 years, Ambassador Levanon proudly represented our country across the world. Born in 1944 in Beirut, from where he was expelled with his family after his mother was arrested and tortured for facilitating the emigration of Jews to Israel, Itzhak Levanon last served as Israel's Ambassador to Egypt (2009-2011), fulfilling his dream of fostering close ties with our Arab neighbours. Today, our thoughts are with his family. May his memory be a blessing.

⚡️🇮🇱Israeli army: "206 soldiers were seriously injured, 340 were moderately injured, and 357 were slightly injured since the beginning of the ground battle. A total of “903” wounded." This is totally incorrect, because the Israeli newspaper Haaretz has already published accurate counts based on hospital data. Even 3 weeks ago, the number was moving towards 7000. In these 3 weeks, the fighting intensified a lot, where only yesterday Israel admitted that there were 49 new wounded, but this is a number that the IDF admitted. According to my estimates, the number of injured is no less than 11,000. That is why there were misunderstandings in the government cabinet.
