Israel expresses its indignation that during the opening session of #CERD, a so-called expert on racism actively engaged in open #Holocaust distortion. There is no “new Holocaust” happening in the world, millions of people are not being sent to death camps; millions are not being slaughtered over mass graves by extermination squads; there is no “final solution” to exterminate an entire people. The mere suggestion is a badge of shame on the United Nations. The Holocaust is incomparable, and any attempts to manipulate the memory of the Holocaust is an insult to the six million victims of the Shoah. The speaker would have not used such a comparison if it did not involve the Jewish State. The so-called expert also referred to Israel as "a true terrorist State". Israel is a democratic country fighting terrorists that on 7 October, systematically massacred 1200 people simply because they were presumed to be Jewish. They butchered families, raped women and girls, they tortured and maimed their victims. Perhaps so-called “experts on racism” should comment on that and the global spike of #antisemitism worldwide. In addition to this, a senior official of @UNHumanRights, who is responsible for dealing with antisemitism within the office, was present at the session but did not question this blatant expression of Holocaust distortion. It has long been evident that the @UN is infected to its core with antisemitism and anti-Israel bias. Sadly, today was another reminder of this fact.
