Using civilians as human shields and locating military facilities in populated areas are grave violations of IHL. This is what the #Hamas terrorists are doing. Firing rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians from built up civilian areas, is not just a crime against human life, it is a double war crime. On the contrary, @IDF takes every feasible precaution available to mitigate unintended civilian harm, including warning of operations that may cause harm to civilians, in Arabic, through media, social media, civic and international organizations. Under IHL, warnings should be effective and in advance. IDF is complying with these requirements. Against these efforts, the #terrorist organisation Hamas tells civilians in Gaza to ignore the warnings, to die in their homes, to protect their rocket sights, their tunnels and their leaders with their lives. We comply with IHL. Terrorist don’t.
