We are saddened to learn of the passing of Élie Buzyn z'l. Élie survived the #Holocaust, became a Doctor, raised a large family & shared his testimony until his very last day. In 2017 @UNGeneva, we committed to become "les temoins des temoins". May his memory be a blessing.

We are all saddened by the death of Shireen Abu Akleh in Jenin today. We agree with @UNHumanRights on the need for a transparent investigation into #ShireenAbuAkleh death. Sadly the Palestinian Authority has rejected all calls for one so far.
We are appalled at the killing of journalist #ShireenAbuAkleh while covering an Israeli military operation in Jenin, #Palestine.
Our Office is on the ground verifying the facts.
We urge an independent, transparent investigation into her killing. Impunity must end.
