On #HolocaustRemembranceDay we remember the Holocaust & honor the victims and survivors.
I light this candle in the memory of my grandfather's family & the thousands members of the Jewish community of Borshchiv (then Poland, now Ukraine) who were murdered during the Holocaust.

Today, #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay, I remember the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, among them members of my family.
It is our duty to keep their memories and stories alive, so that future generations never forget. #WeRemember#ShemVener

This is the time of the year, when @WHO Executive Board approves the Agenda of the upcoming #WHA74. Unfortunately, it still includes a descriminatory item singling out Israel!
Thank you to those countries that tried with us to depoliticize this professional organization. #EB148
At #UPR37, we commended 🇬🇪#Georgia for setting a minimum level of representation for women in parliamentary elections in 2019 and for its adoption of Code of Rights of the Child. We recommend that it takes steps towards implementing the #CRPD.

📢STARTING NOW @WHO
A very important discussion on how to ensure for persons with disabilities to attain the highest standard of #health. We have been steering this discussion for months and are so proud it is finally being addressed at #EB148.
We just took part in the #UPR37 on Austria. We recommended that they implement & update their NAP on combatting violence against women and commended them for their efforts regarding persons with disabilities & tackling antisemitism & hate speech online.

#EB148@WHO |For far too long, #mentalhealth was a neglected issue.
➡️Stress
➡️Fatigue
➡️Uncertainty
➡️Isolation
Our duty is to ensure that mental health & well-being are properly addressed in our response & embedded in our health services.

Next week will mark International #HolocaustRemembranceDay. Fanny Ben-Ami, a Holocaust survivor, will share her testimony at @UNGeneva's ceremony, so that her memories and those of all other victims of the Holocaust can be kept alive for generations to come!
@yadvashem
"Racism and antisemitism have no place in our modern times."
As we are preparing to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz next week, these words of a #Holocaust survivor resonate as strong as ever.

In its #UPR37 session, #Lebanon used its time addressing human rights issues to defend #Hezbollah. This group is recognised by the US, the Netherlands, the UK, Germany and many more as a #terrorist organisation. How can someone defend its actions?
Cc: @UNJanKubis
This is what I said about #Lebanon during its peer-review today #UPR:
#Hezbollah has tightened its grip on Lebanon. It
❌uses Lebanese civilians as human shields
❌recruits children as young as 11 to fight in Syria
❌uses excessive force agst protesters
