On October 7, #Hamas tortured, raped, murdered, and abducted the people of Israel. These attacks have also led to a global rise in antisemitism. Today at #HumanRights75, Israel pledged to :   1️⃣ - Continue to protect the right to life, in fulfilment of its responsibility to protect its population by fighting terrorist organizations who actively promote arbitrary depravation of life, and murder with genocidal intent.   2️⃣ - Continue its fight against antisemitism including through combatting hate speech and misinformation and continuing to promote a structural change within the @UN system, to address the widespread antisemitic discourse and actions by staff, officials and experts. Hatred and Evil must never prevail.

As evidenced today @WHO , 75 years on, the Jewish people are still under attack, still enduring the brutality of antisemitism, and the delegitimization of the only Jewish State.   Today’s session of the executive board is the only special session ever convened on a specific conflict. No special session was called on the health situation in Syria, Yemen, Sudan and many other conflicts around the world.   Do the victims of these conflicts matter less or does the world play by a different rulebook when it comes to Israel?

Today, the Executive Board of the @WHO is meeting in Geneva for the very first time to discuss a specific regional situation. Will they address #Hamas’ use of #Hospitals as terror bases? Will they condemn the use of civilians as #human shields? Will they condemn Hamas for the #October7massacre? Will they call for the release of all #hostages or their medical needs? The answer is simple. No.
