Today I saw the devastation in Kibbutz Be’eri that was attacked by Hamas terrorists on 7 October. Nothing justifies killing women, children, elderly people or abducting them from their homes. They need to be released immediately and unconditionally.

Today I met with #Israel’s Foreign Minister, Health Minister, and families of hostages brutally seized during the Hamas terror attacks on 7 October. My @WHO colleagues and I expressed our solidarity and deep empathy with the families. Some of the families are also mourning the loss of loved ones killed on that terrible day. We told the families, who shared with us their pain, fear and hope, that we will continue all our efforts to bring about the immediate release of the hostages.

Did you tweet this before or after you met with the #Iranian foreign minister this morning? Did you call on him to stop funding and arming a terrorist organisation using hospitals to hide? Did you push him to stop his proxies firing on innocent Israeli civilians from the north, south and west? Did you condemn his regime’s violent and genocidal ideology which is responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands in our region? Iran does not care about the people of Gaza. The UN needs to stop being used as pawns in Iran’s desire for death and destruction.
