For a whole month now, we have urged civilians and patients to evacuate the Shifa Hospital, which is the cover for the Hamas HQ. Our goal is to avoid civilians being trapped in an active combat zone. Yet, @WHO @ICRC @UNOCHA have constantly criticised our call, enabling Hamas to use the hospital, its patients and its staff as human shields. The international community could have facilitated the transfer of patients, but they did nothing, except call out Israel and give Hamas a free pass. Now that the @IDF is in the vicinity of the hospital, it will provide the assistance needed, in coordination with the Shifa medical staff with whom the IDF maintains direct & regular communication with. Israel will continue to do all it can to protect the civilian population in Gaza. Hamas doesn’t care. Israel does.

Earlier today, the IDF received reports of a hit on the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The Hamas-run media office in the Gaza Strip immediately claimed that this was a strike carried out by the IDF. An examination of IDF operational systems indicates that a misfired projectile launched by terrorist organizations inside the Gaza Strip hit the Shifa Hospital. The misfired projectile was aimed at IDF troops operating in the vicinity. Attached is an image of the trajectory detected by IDF radar systems.

Tonight marks 85 years since Kristallnacht, the November Pogrom of 1938, in which more than 100 synagogues and 7500 Jewish businesses were vandalized in Germany. This horrific event was the culmination of years of incitement and antisemitic rhetoric against Jews. In the past couple of weeks we’ve seen Jewish communities around the world face horrific antisemitism. Antisemitism starts with words but it doesn’t end there. More often than not it kills.

Today together with @Nitzan_Chen the Head of @GPOIsrael, I sent a letter to @FPAIsPal following @HonestReporting’s publication regarding the participation of freelance photographers during the October 7 massacre. “Participating in war crimes and crimes against humanity constitutes a breach of every ethical and professional standard of journalism, and must be met with a swift and clear condemnation”.
