Moral leadership requires clarity.
Freedom of expression and assembly must be guaranteed- but these rights cannot be abused to call for wiping out Israel and Israelis, and for killing Jews around the world.
The current rise of antisemitic violence has no equivalence in its scope. Jews in Europe, in Americas, in Asia, in the Middle East, in Africa are the target of unseen threats since WWII. Mob lynching attempts, synagogues and kosher shops vandalised, Jewish students and pupils threatened and harassed, Jewish houses and stores marked with Stars of David and Swastikas, antisemitic slogans with death calls chanted in mass rallies, in public transportation, in universities. Nowhere seems to be safe anymore to be a Jew.
Any sort of balancing act only empowers the haters, and shows the hypocrisy of those who should upheld moral clarity.
