International law prohibits taking and executing hostages. Yet today, the IDF has recovered from #Gaza the bodies of hostages CPL Nik Beizer, 19, and SGT Ron Sherman, 19. Both were kidnapped alive by #hamasterrorists on October 7th, as can be seen in the footage released by the terrorists themselves. Many international organizations remain silent, effectively encouraging #HamasislSIS to commit further atrocities. We will mourn with their families and continue in our mission to locate the missing and return all the hostages home.

The @ICRC’s quote in the @NYT is WRONG - factually, legally, and based on its own principles. FACT - Israel is actively assisting with humanitarian efforts, including the flow of all the items allegedly ‘deprived’. See rb.gy/dsxsth. LAW – Israel’s actions are not unlawful; the exact opposite is true. See t.ly/nNpUk PRINCIPLES - what happened to the ICRC’s principles of neutrality and impartiality? If there is a change in policy, why does the ICRC not openly condemn Hamas for its systematic militarization of hospitals and use of civilians as human shields? We expect the ICRC to do better.

Today, @ICRCPresident landed in Israel to grasp the dark reality Israelis have endured on October 7 and since. Upon landing, we met with families of hostages together with FM @elicoh1. Not knowing the fate of their loved ones who are in the hands of Hamas terrorists is unbearable. She also held important meetings with President @Isaac_Herzog and @IsraeliPM. As long as they are not released, the @ICRC must demand on getting access to the hostages. They must be bolder in their approach.

I met this evening, with the @ICRCPresident Mirjana Spoljaric and told her about the painful meeting I had just held with the families of the hostages. I reiterated our firm demand for the immediate return of all the hostages held captive in Gaza for 70 days by cruel Hamas terrorists - without being allowed visitation by the Red Cross or the provision of life-saving drugs. In our conversation, the President of the Red Cross pledged that the swift return of the hostages is a top priority. She reviewed a series of actions and humanitarian steps they are taking to try and ease the suffering of the hostages and to see them returned to their families. We also discussed the humanitarian efforts that the organization is undertaking regarding the whole of the Gaza Strip. I conveyed my thanks to the organization's workers who have brought us the hostages who have been released, and pray that they will go on to return them all swiftly home.
