According to international law, the use of sexual violence is considered a war crime. Thank you UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten, for visiting Israel with the aim of studying closely the horrific, systematic, and extensive sexual and gender-based violence committed by the terrorist organization Hamas on October 7, and to show solidarity with the citizens of Israel.
We held an important meeting with the participation of a team of experts in the medical and legal fields accompanying her on her visit, along with representatives from Israeli civil society organizations and academia dealing with women's rights, and the fight against gender-based violence, who are working to raise awareness of the horrible sexual crimes committed by Hamas terrorists.
Thank you Mrs. Patten for your vital and important mission to find out the truth and present it clearly to the world.
