Today I presented my letter of credence to President @Isaac_Herzog, officially starting my tenure as EU ambassador to Israel. I feel truly blessed & honored to represent the European Union in this amazing country, and look forward to taking our relationship to new heights

Earlier today, a Palestinian #terrorist stabbed a Jewish man in #Jerusalem solely on the basis of his Jewish identity, attempted to stab security forces and was then neutralized. We will not allow terrorism to run rampant in the streets of Jerusalem. We will protect our citizens.

I am honored to represent #Israel today at the 7th Speakers’ Summit of the Parliamentary Assembly of the #UfM. This important discussion on common #ClimateAction in the Mediterranean is particularly timely and we are standing ready to cooperate with our neighbors🍃
I had the pleasure to light the 5th candle of #Hannukah2021 alongside 🇪🇺 Commission President @vonderleyen and Brussels Mayor @PhilippeClose. Thank you @EjccOfficial for this wonderful event.
Even a little light can wipe away a lot of darkness.

Congratulations to the UAE and Crown Prince @MohamedBinZayed on the 50th #UAENationalDay, a marvelous symbol of unity, courage, and vision! The UAE is a wonder of the modern world, and I am so glad the UAE and Israel can celebrate now as friends. Mabrouk! 🇮🇱🎇🇦🇪 #UAE50
As the UAE celebrates 50 years of unity & achievements, I wish the Emirati people, their leader @MohamedBinZayed, a man of peace & tolerance, and my friend @ABZayed continued stability & prosperity. May we continue to deepen the bonds between our countries! Happy National Day! 🇦🇪
Today, I hosted the “Light of Israel” ceremony at @IsraelMFA in Jerusalem. I had the honor of presenting the award - which I also initiated - to 21 winners who together, represent every part of Israeli society.
I just finished a long and warm meeting with the President of France, @EmmanuelMacron. During our meeting, we discussed at length the resumption of talks with Iran.
As a young girl, one morning, Levana and her family left their home in Egypt with just nine suitcases.
They never returned.
This is their story & the story of 850,000 Jews who were expelled from Arab lands & Iran.
Today and every day, we remember them.
.@Lindamnu was just 20 years old when she was forced to flee #Iraq following violence against Jews.

850,000.
That's the number of Jewish refugees from Arab countries & Iran who were forced to flee the countries they called home for hundreds (& even thousands of years).
They left behind homes, businesses, synagogues & belongings.

#Hanukkah isn't the only miracle we're celebrating today.
Today, November 29th marks another miraculous moment in the history of our country 🇮🇱.
On this day in 1947, the @UN voted on establishing what would be become the modern state of #Israel.
This morning, I met with the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, @TrussLiz. I know that we are committed to the same goal – Iran will never be allowed to get a nuclear weapon. The Iranians are coming to these talks for only one reason - to get sanctions lifted.
Foreign Secretary @TrussLiz and I also signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation between our countries. This is not only an agreement between close friends, but between two technological superpowers. 🇮🇱 🇬🇧

After my first trip to Israel, I wrote in my local newspaper that “the moment I put my feet on the ground, I had a feeling which I will never forget.” Landing today in Israel to be U.S. Ambassador is another moment I’ll never forget.
