So, what precautions have been put in place to stop @Plaid_Bolsonaro from cutting down the Amazon in the next 9 yrs? Surely all this agreement does is placate the public & give him a window of opportunity to carry on with deforestation at huge speed @Greenpeace @FoEint @BBCEarth

Natural forests or plantation forests? For biodiversity, there is a world of difference between the two so the wording is really important - also in communication.

Now. End felling now. Hard and early. Firm but fair. Generate electricity from refuse inside greenhouses. Big but clean. 100m tall, tree farms. Preventing the CO2 and heat escaping, increasing annual growth by 40 times UK? 1gw / 50sqkm. Likely smaller.
#ELECTRICGREENHOUSES 1gw RELIABLY #EmitNOCO2 #PlantGrowthx13 (UK daily?) < FUEL Landarea/13 deserts, opencast, brownfield #GROUNDTHERMALSTORE 50 sqkm (7x7) Smaller area, Cheaper, Doable Globally, 10000 needed, 15-20% growth #NOFOSSILFUEL #CLOSEDCARBONCYCLE or #CARBONCAPTURE
Does this mean that we can finally stop Drax felling trees in the US to be burnt in its UK plant? Oh, and perhaps stop deforestation where oil palm or other crops are to be grown for the production of biofuel?
Now we must clarify what is the definition of a forest? Drastically altered monocultures cultivated by humans are not forests at all...
