Jackson, Stanford:"Only 8% of the carbon budget left or less than 10 years at current emissions" [for having a chance to remain below +1.5C]: nitter.vloup.ch/Peters_Glen/stat… @Carbonbrief this year shared similar carbon budget estimates: carbonbrief.org/guest-post-r… Why don't we move faster?
The #CarbonBucket for 1.5°C is about to overflow. #EarthDay2021 is a good day to remember that global CO₂ emissions must go to net-zero to stop global warming. The sooner the world reaches net-zero CO₂ emissions, the lower the amount of global warming. Zero ~2050 for 1.5°C.
Weather, impacts and forecasts indicate that net zero 2050 is 20 years too late. Why do we assume that rapid transition is impossible or economically costly? Cheap renewables and inclusive economic analysis show otherwise. Are delays not merely political?

The @WEF video incorrectly states that the Paris agreement "aims to restrict global warming to 2°C" and "preferably to 1.5°C". The agreement states: "Holding the increase .. to well below 2°C" and "pursuing efforts to limit the increase to 1.5°C" 👇: unfccc.int/sites/default/fil…
