The mindset that human beings are somehow special or superior in intelligence to other beings is one of the main reasons why we are in this mess. Only once we are humble enough to recognise this delusion will we finally awaken to the deeper solutions needed to get us out of it.

I suppose it’s because intelligence is not necessarily a benchmark for evolutionary success. Evidence so far would suggest it’s not. Evolutionary success can only really be measured by one thing- longevity, in which case Horseshoe crabs leave us for dust!
