#AGW, the #biodiversity crisis, pollution, deforestation, poverty et al issues, are not problems. They're symptoms of a common cause that underlies them all. Namely the worldwide consumption/growth based economic model that externalises key costs. Change this, cure the symptoms.
#globalwarming and #climatechange are more familiar concepts to the layman than the #biodiversitycrisis. The important thing is to tackle both at the same time, while ensuring a #JustTransition to a fairer way of life for people and planet. Also, simplify the concept please 🙏
I like to think so, and I'm doing my bit in lectures etc, but I was demoralised by the deafening media silence about the first ever UN Summit on Biodiversity.
