2/ Humans are not a virus! Our consumption patterns (driven by a minority) are driving this collapse. For those who are not white or well-off the 'humans are a virus' meme is too similar to the over-population argument which tends to reek of colonialism, sexism and racism.

Overpopulation is not included as one of the five direct drivers of biodiversity loss in @IPBES 2019 global assessment. It is identified as an underlying driver, however. Could be argued Wilson uses overpopulation as a lever to advance Half-Earth agenda. ipbes.net/news/Media-Release…
