Beavers extirpated in NYC due to trapping for fur trade and habitat destruction. After 200 years, beavers seen again about 10 years ago in the Bronx River. There are 2 males that live there still. nytimes.com/2007/02/23/nyreg… Cities have real nature! #Biodiversity2020
