The chambered nautilus has been around longer than TREES 🌳🌴🌳, but this species is on the brink of #extinction because of the shell trade.

Shell trade / extinction of Nautilus is a shame! But there is a misconception here that a living fossil is an old species. The present Nautilus can be young in an old clade mainly extinct, and remarkable for that reason !
