Shell trade / extinction of Nautilus is a shame! But there is a misconception here that a living fossil is an old species. The present Nautilus can be young in an old clade mainly extinct, and remarkable for that reason ! doi.org/10.1016/j.tree.2014.…

Extinction is bad for us and the natural system, we need to safeguard #Nautilus from disappearing from the aquatic biodiversity, checkmating shell trade is just the difficult choice we have to make. #Biodiversity2020
