The #Asia Pacific region has significantly reduced poverty while increasing coverage of protected areas and forests. But more needs to be done. Sustainable forest and protected area management efforts can contribute to the achievement of the #SDGs. #HLPF2019 #HLPF

These are NOT sustainable-with the exception of Vietnam almost all afforestation is monocultures not restored forest & PAs maybe paper parks. Simple measures + targets can harm real conservation & simple metrics mask genuine change
