The 80% increase in the article above refers to sustainably feeding and meeting the caloric needs of an estimated 10 billion people in the year 2050. Bioenergy does not seem to be taken into consideration directly. However, large-scale bioenergy risks further biodiversity loss.

But "feeding" 10 billion people on what sort of diet - high in animal products or low in animal products? Makes a huge difference in the amount of land needed.
