...but how do we then address the grotesque abuse in factory farming chickens with such increases in demand..already we see vast use of antibiotics, growth hormones & savage production regimes...don't subscribe to this as a meaningful alternative...let's forget meat altogether...

That photo is horrifying, Those poor birds live their whole short lives packed into warehouses. Yes, they can perch - on metal bars, it seems - and there is a little room to move, but how can anyone think it is ok to reduce living beings to 'stock', to be 'produced' for profit?!
