If you want to halt destruction of healthy ecosystems, charge fees to those who put paving or monoculture or who otherwise disturb wildlife habitat. Raise fees until efforts to avoid harming wildlife are strong enough so that random polls show most ppl say we aren't going too far

Micro-economists found the solution to this problem: markets function perfectly when two conditions are met: 1. Externalities are internalized in the cost/price; 2. There is no abuse of market power. This is standard textbook knowledge. Good economists can help make it real.
