The #Biodiversity Intactness Index by Newbold et al. maps global #species abundance against pre-modern times. This new article, open for pre-peer review feedback, begs the question, "Is biodiversity as intact as we think it is?" peerj.com/preprints/27575/

The Biodiversity Intactness Index was developed by Scholes & Biggs South African scientists & contributors to multiple @IPBES assessments they published the BII in Nature in 2005 nature.com/articles/nature03… It was applied by Newbold et al in 2016 to estimate global spp abundance
