Can't remember what game the speedrun was for, but I watched a video of a couple of developers reacting to a run of their game and one of them sounded legitimately both amazed and dismayed as they said "I THOUGHT WE PATCHED THAT OUT!"

BOTW/TOTK are terrible games to make this point with. The point of their game design has always been, we give you tools, we teach you how we think those tools work now you go and use those tools and see how you can use them.

The idea of devs being upset about a player blazing through their work always seemed silly to me. Like a movie director being worried about a viewer fast-forwarding through a movie. They'll ultimately engage with what they want; it's not a job to be finished.

My favourite part is when a funky glitch is discovered and instead of fixing it, the Devs decide to make it an actual mechanic in their DLC/sequels.
