The article even says this is a direct continuation of the first movie. It's not like the plot is getting rehashed or anything. But seriously, what IS there about this sequel that would make only the Japanese dub worthy of showing to the public?

If it roughly follows Super Mario World's lore, settled in Dinosaur Land with all Koopalings having their moment to shine, more enemies: dragons, Reznor, etc and a big final battle with Bowser's Koopa Clown Copter and you've got yourselves a hit @IlluminationUS @NintendoAmerica

So instead, they’ll take an entirely unrelated movie, and just paste Mario character skins over the original characters, and rework some of the music.

Japanese Release: It's just the first movie again, but inexplicably harder to watch. Like, if you go see it at the wrong time, the movie randomly abruptly ends and starts over. American Release: Mario does a bunch of acid, goes to Arabic Land and throws vegetables at a frog.

They’re going to retool Minions 3 as a Mario Movie. It’ll be dreamy.
