I'm not against easy modes as long as the intended experience is still available for those who want it. And yeah, if your game is abnormally difficult it is probably a good idea to make that as transparent as possible so people know what they're getting into.

The only difficulty options I should have is the developer intended normal and an "impossible" difficulty

No. Just as movies and books don't come with a plot explanation guide, games don't have to be 100% accessible. Play/read/watch to your level of desired challenge and engagement.

//yes. And this is from someone who adores Demon's and Dark Souls. I'd love them even more if I could take a second pass to investigate things carefully.

i'd rather for games to have a set difficulty. doesnt mean that there cant be easy or hard games, im just saying it feels more genuine to me when the game is set at one difficulty

Every game should be a static jpeg with no interactivity. The only winning move is not to play

No it shouldn't... It's the author's choice.

Nah, I argue games aren't HARD ENOUGH Lol. I miss the old NINTENDO HARD NES games day.

The objectively correct difficulty for a game is whatever my current skill level is. Anything harder is for try-hard sweatlords, anything easier is for mouth-breathing beta n00bs.
