Not every game has to, but it's nice when it's there. Sometimes causal gamers exist who just want to have an easy playthrough. But in turn, there should also be an offer for a harder experience. Doom handles this just fine with its difficulty ratings.

I honestly think every game should have a mode where it just plays the whole thing for me while I sit on the couch and look at my phone.

No, go play a game that has easy mode and leave games that dont have easy mode for the people that do enjoy a challenge.

If you need to play on easy mode, you need not be a gamer. Unless of course, you are disabled. Some of these games we played as kids on NES were tough as nails and there was no save option on most of them. Only passwords on some checkpoints.

Honestly ever since Dishonored 2 gave people fully customizable difficulty where they can tweak most parameters in the game to their liking, I've kind of been wanting that in every game. Even when we're going for difficulty, no one agrees what good difficulty is. Set it yourself.

F*** no. Remember old Nintendo games and Ninja Gaiden? It's cool to be hard AF. I was ATROCIOUS at Bloodborne. I bought a used copy from Gamestop so I could return it if I didn't like it. 7 years later it's my favorite game.

The real question is why every game doesn't have a cock slider. I just wouldn't have felt as personally invested in my cyberpunk character showing the world that he's worth something if I didn't also know he had the smallest penis I could possible make for him. Its all uphill
