When I was little, maybe 9 years old, a neighbor kid came over and we were showing each other our cards. He had a holographic charizard (yes, that one) and my dad tried to fleece him, by advising me that it'd be a bad deal if I traded him my Dragonite for his holo Charizard.

That Blastoise one actually happened to me. I screwed over my neighbor (unintentionally) by trading him an Exeggutor from the new Jungle set for Blastoise… and then traded Blastoise away later that night to an older kid for a Poliwrath. Not… my finest moment.

I just read a comment somewhere where someone talked about trading a 1st Edition Charizard for Pokemon Stadium and another game.

I traded a whole book of cards to a kid who convinced me he had a super secret rare Grimer card. Looking back, I'm pretty sure it was just a minor print error. Tried to recreate:
