Yeah, well... Those emulators do not come with ROMs themselves, do they? Cost breakdown... Raspberry Pi - 35/40? HDMI cable - 3? 2x decent SNES controllers - 40/50? Decent housing - 10/15? That 80 bucks doesn't sound so bad now, does it?
