It ain't that hard - if a glitch occurs (whether it be intentionally or unintentionally) that saves time, then the run shouldn't be considered glitchless. The door trick as mentioned in the article may not be an intended game mechanic but it doesn't save time from the run either.

The odds of pulling off a glitchless New Vegas run are much worse than doing a perfect Wind Waker run with barrier skip and zombie levitation.
