The only thing that can be done is nothing, so only talk about specific instances AFTER THE FACT, like all of the REPUTABLE media conglomerates do, and DONT. TRY. TO. CHANGE. THE. DISCUSSION.
And yet mainstream media keeps baiting it to happen, uncensored. They are basically performing reverse psychology on anyone who is susceptible to actually doing it. "Dont do, we can promise you that you would achieve everything one seeks to achieve by doing it, but dont do it".
All the people who say "its not funny, went to far" just like to ignore talking about shootings until they happen. The more you ignore a problem the more it happens.
