My office has received numerous tips from crypto and blockchain firms that SEC Chair @GaryGensler’s information reporting “requests” to the crypto community are overburdensome, don’t feel particularly… voluntary… and are stifling innovation.

The CLF receives $2.75 million in contributions from FTX and their executives, and it's somehow now Gary Gensler's fault that you requested that the SEC stop requesting information about the very same activities that brought FTX down? OK.

The ‘Blockchain Eight’ wrote a bipartisan letter in March attempting to chill the SEC’s information requests to crypto firms. FTX was one of those firms.

In March, Emmer wrote a letter to Gensler complaining SEC was overstepping & harassing crypto firms, incl. FTX, by asking them for info about their businesses. Emmer attacked Gensler for failing to do precisely what Emmer had lobbied him *not* to do. theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…
