Disappointed to see that this incomplete response from Treasury does not consider Americans’ constitutional right to privacy while sanctioning of neutral, open-source, decentralized privacy software. home.treasury.gov/policy-iss…
I sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Yellen regarding the unprecedented sanctioning of Tornado Cash. The growing adoption of decentralized technology will certainly raise new challenges for OFAC. Nonetheless, technology is neutral and the expectation of privacy is normal.⬇️

A right to privacy? I thought you weren't a fan of things that aren't specifically called out in the Constitution as having a right to privacy?

It's a right exercised by Founders like Madison, Jefferson, the Adamses, Franklin, Gerry, and others who used cutting edge privacy enhancing technology of the day:
On August 28, 1789, Jefferson wrote to Madison from France, proposing edits to Madison's draft of the 1st Amendment. The letter contained ciphertext encoding sensitive info about French revolutionaries. Founding-era use of privacy enhancing tools was common.

What a surprise. Instead of focusing on issues that Minnesotans actually care about, Tom Emmer is shilling for a company linked to Russia's FSB. fortune.com/2022/08/25/torna…

"Constitutional right to privacy"? Have you not been paying attention to the Supreme Court this year? There is no such thing (re: Dobbs) thanks to Trump's extremist SCOTUS appointments.

Why you do something about the reverse repo that banks and hedge funds are using for free cash . How about naked short selling. How about the plunge protection team who is protecting the rich. How about not supporting a cashless society.

Its already happening. The government to trying to attack open source technologies. There is a coinbase lawsuit attempting to defend the technology use rights and the products made from cryptocurrencies built on open source scripts.
