Where’s the tradition? Where’s the passion? This a good design for a local league team. But for Leeds United? Whoever had the final approval must be really out of touch with the fans.
I don’t think crests need to be traditional nor should they be a rehash of the last one. However the reason why this happens is to retain the clubs heritage and/or ethos. This crest is neither and as others have mentioned, not very gender neutral.
It’s possibly an attempt to follow the Juventus model of rebranding. The key difference is that with Juventus you see contemporary design, an intelligent rationale and excellent execution. I guess at least Leeds got the colours right...
