Well GTA is the 1st, and for what it does, it is the BEST. Well, except for GTA Snore, that is. As long as SR was a "gangsta sandbox crime sim" it would ALWAYS and forever be labeled as a cheap GTA Knockoff, no matter how good it is. SRTT and IV put SR on the map as its own game!

I hear you! And while I love SRIV and SRTT, and would prefer Volition cater to ALL of us, you included, and give us choices, I would still welcome a SR game that started off like the original.

It may. Bear in mind that it took Volition four full SR games to ramp up to SR IV style. If they completely reboot, they may start out with a more grounded, urban style sandbox game and get progressively more over the top as they go along. Or, they may be able to strike a balance

Something they could do is compromise. Keep the OTT elements and have super powers BUT give the player the option to toggle them on & off Make all the missions and side quests doable with or without powers. Also, Stillwater was a MUCH better map than Steeport. Steelport sucked.

You know what? As much as I love SRIV, at this point, I would take ANYTHING @DSVolition wanted to put out for a SR sequel, even if it means going back to the ghetto with some San Andreas'esque Gangsta-Thug feel. I just want a new SR!

Yes, they are all canon with some exceptions like the Facebook game and certain DLC.
